TUCSON HALF MARATHON

Date: SUNDAY, December 15, 2024

Start Time: 7:30 AM, Mountain Standard Time

Start Waves: We will have up to three starting waves on race day separated by 2-3 minutes each to spread out the field before entering the Highway 77 portion of the race. Stay tuned for updates in the race week runner email.

Shuttle Bus:
All runners must take a race provided shuttle on race morning. There is absolutely no parking or drop off at the Half Marathon start!

Course Brief:
The Half Marathon course, which is primarily downhill from Biosphere Road to Catalina, does have sections of rolling hills (from miles 11-12) so please be prepared!  

Cutoff Time:
7 Hours | The half marathon course officially closes by 2:30pm. Cut off times will be enforced along the course.

Certified Course:
The course is USATF Certified (#AZ16023JOE)

Aid Stations

Aid Stations, with water and Gatorade will be placed at the following locations along the course: Start, 2.0mi, 3.6mi, 5.8mi, 6.8mi, 7.9 mi, 8.8mi, 9.8mi, 10.9mi, 12.0mi, Finish Line. Gatorade’s Endurance Formula  is the official on-course sports drink of the Tucson Marathon, Half Marathon, 50K and Marathon Relay.

RACE DAY TRACKING

Looking to track a runner on race day? Stay tuned for a link to register for this service, which is provided by Chronotrack. Spectators will also be able to download the Athlinks app and then, by viewing a participants "results", will have the option to see which  splits a runner is between on the course map.

Important Notes

For the safety of all involved, parking and drop offs are not allowed at the starting line. All competitors must stay inside the safety cones at all times. Anyone who runs outside of the cones will be disqualified. Baby Joggers/Strollers are NOT allowed on the course at any time.  No exceptions will be made.

AWards

All finishers will receive a commemorative medal after crossing the finish line. Overall top male and female winners for the Half Marathon race will be based on the official race chip time. Awards will be given to the top overall male and female masters winners in the Half Marathon race, based on chip time.  

Age group awards are provided to the top three male and female runners in the Half Marathon in the following age brackets: Under 19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70-74; 75+ Awards need to be picked up on-site (Half Marathon after 10am). Be sure to check the Results Kiosk before leaving the finish line area.

RULES: The top three overall race winners, and masters winners, will receive their overall place award as well as any age-group award.
